The Pinewoods Holiday Park is proud to be part of the Holkham Estate. Owned by the Coke family, the spectacular Holkham Hall and its extensive grounds remain a traditional working country estate and a major part of the local community but have also become an attraction in their own right.
The hall and its gardens are open to the public and include The Stables Café and the Bygones Museum. The grounds are a regular venue for special events from small children’s plays to the bi-annual Holkham Country Fair and large open-air concerts: recently the Estate played host to Elton John.
Along with Holkham beach, the hall and the estate also feature in many films and television programs, such as Shakespeare in Love, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and The Duchess, starring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes.
The estate also runs the famous Victoria Inn in Holkham village, where you’ll also find an Adnams wine shop and Mark Elliott Furniture. More recently, the estate has refurbished and runs the Globe Inn on the Buttlands in Wells.
Holkham employs many local people on the estate and in its associated businesses. These include Holkham Produce and even our own paint company – Holkham Linseed Paints. There are also many tenants of the Holkham Estate that run successful businesses.
