Food and drink

There’s an abundance of fabulous eateries in and around Wells-next-the-Sea. All you have to do is decide which to enjoy!

Your caravan or lodge at Pinewoods has a well-equipped kitchen if you fancy cooking, but there’s a whole host of tried-and-tested places to eat in Wells that our team love!

Whether you have a penchant for a pastry in the morning, enjoy tucking into a big brunch, like to take a sandwich to the beach (don’t drop it!) or prefer fish and chips at the quay, you’re in for a treat.

Wells is also home to a number of pubs and restaurants serving food in the evenings; we’d recommend booking a table in peak season, as they can be very popular!

If you’re travelling around the area for days or evenings out, you’ll be pleased to hear that North Norfolk is renowned for it’s fabulous bakeries, farm shops, hotels and restaurants, many of which use local produce to create some truly scrumptious treats for your tummy.

Pop-up street food

Each summer, we welcome some of North Norfolk’s favourite food pop-ups to Pinewoods. From burgers to bhajis, seafood to stonebaked pizzas, it’s always an exciting line up!

We’ll share the 2024 pop-ups in the spring.  Follow us on social media for more updates.

Holkham’s cafés and restaurants

Holkham has three cafés and a hotel restaurant which are popular with locals and tourists alike. Why not give one, or all, of these a try during your stay at Pinewoods?

All are dog-friendly.

The Courtyard Café

Found in the heart of Holkham Park, the Courtyard Café serves a large selection of hot and cold food and drinks, including a salad bar. Choose to cosy up on the sofas in the snug, one of the tables in the light, bright café or enjoy the sun rays outside in the courtyard.

Wells Beach Café

Often renowned as the most dog friendly café in the area, the Beach Café is just a stones throw from Pinewoods. Famed for its saussage rolls (both meat and vegan options), it also serves up hot breakfast rolls, salads and sandwiches, as well as cakes and drinks. Sit in, eat outside or take away for a beach stroll.

The Victoria

Just minutes from Holkham Park in one direction and Holkham Beach in the other, The Vic offers a delicious, seasonal menu created with excellent local produce.

The Lookout

The Lookout stands at the edge of Holkham Bay, with spectacular views over the Holkham National Nature Reserve. This unique building, built to fit seamlessly into the landscape, serves filter coffee and other hot drinks, plus sandwiches and snacks to enjoy overlooking the surroundings.
