Stay by the sea: Caravan and motorhome pitches

Fully serviced, dog friendly pitches for caravans, motorhomes and campervans with stunning views and modern facilities. With nature on your doorstep and the sea just a stone’s throw away, it’s the perfect base to enjoy North Norfolk.

Our stunning Spoonbill Drift Touring Park sits on the edge of our main site and Holkham National Nature Reserve. It offers 116 spacious pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes.

If you’re looking for a touring park close to the beach, or caravan pitches surrounded by nature, look no further!

Our pitches enjoy big open views of the marshland, countryside, reserve, wide skies and the expansive backdrop of Wells town. Spoonbill Drift has been designed to minimise its impact on the landscape both environmentally and visually, with wild planting and lots of space.

The pitches themselves comprise of a three by nine metre fibre-reinforced grass standing area with porous grid paving. Each pitch has electricity, water and grey water waste points as standard.

Conservation is incredibly important to us at Pinewoods, so to enhance biodiversity we allow the spaces between pitches and the access road to grow as wild and natural as possible. This helps support the park’s other use as a traditional grazing ground for over-wintering flocks of Brent, Pink-footed Geese and Widgeon, who arrive long after our summer guests have departed.

Our dog friendly touring park also has two award-winning and state-of-the-art amenity blocks, complete with toilets, showers, washing up facilities and launderettes. Don’t miss their living roofs!

Wifi

Wifi is subject to availability and network conditions, and is provided for pleasure not for business. Due to the location of the accommodation, bookings are not accepted if they are wholly reliant on the uninterrupted provision of Wifi. Download limits apply.

Arrival times

Arrival time is from 1pm to allow us time to service the pitches. There is no space to park with caravans or motorhomes on site or in Wells town, so please bear this in mind and plan to arrive after 1pm. We appreciate that travelling times are variable, but we ask that you respect your booking terms and conditions.

Accessibility

All of the amenity blocks on the touring park provide accessible facilities for showers, toilets, dish-washing and chemical toilet disposal. Please advise one of the Reception Team at check-in that you require access to the accessible showers and toilets so that your personal key card can be configured accordingly.

Wells Beach Bus

Don’t fancy walking? Take the Beach Bus to town! We have one fully electric bus as well as our vintage, open top Tiger.

EV charging for electric vehicles

You’ll find four electric vehicle charging points on the touring park.

Recycling and bin bays

We are working hard to look after our planet and operate sustainably. Please help us by separating your waste – there are bin bays across the touring site for you to use.

We’re staying here in a campervan for the third time now, and I just want to say what an excellent site it is. We’re nature lovers and this place has really got it right in terms of encouraging biodiversity. The wildflower margins around the edge are absolutely thronged with butterflies, bees, dragonflies and every other kind of beautiful and undervalued insect you could mention. It’s a long time since I saw so many butterflies and hoverflies in one place, ladybirds, pretty burnet moths, azure damselflies… I could go on. So encouraging too that areas between neatly trimmed pitches have been left unmown for wildlife. There are skylarks singing on high, swifts screeching and chasing overhead, the occasional kite gliding into sight…

This place is perfect. Please don’t change a thing.

My wife and I stayed on the touring site. We had an amazing holiday with our dog Stan. Weather was amazing, and Pinewoods lived up to its reputation as an excellent place to stay. We hadn’t been to Norfolk before, but we will definitely be going back. Great places to visit in the local area, great beaches, and loads of dog friendly areas. Excellent holiday.

Simon B, TripAdvisor, June 2025

We had a fantastic stay on Spoonbill Drift with our touring caravan for 4 nights with our children. It’s a lovely site, close to the beach and within walking distance of the small town. The washing/toilet facilities were spacious and immaculately clean, and we were impressed with how well the site was looked after. Being the beginning of the season, the site was under half full but still quiet and pleasant. Gorgeous dark skies at night for stargazing!

Wells-next-the-Sea

Wells-next-the-Sea is a charming seaside town, known for its bustling quayside and vast beach of golden sands backed by pine trees and candy coloured beach huts.

Enjoy coastal relaxation, walks along the beach or in the shade of the woodland, or venture off into the countryside on bikes.

Alternatively, head into town for coffee and croissants, fish and chips, or a pit stop at one of the wonderful eateries along the quayside and Staithe Street. Follow that with a relaxed mooch around the galleries and boutique shops, before perhaps popping into one of several pubs or wine bars for a drink or picking up an ice cream!
