Wells-next-the-Sea as some terrific pubs and gastro pubs, which are well worth discovering during your stay. You’ll also find some great independent coffee, ice-cream and sandwich shops.

If you love seafood, you can see the day’s catch as it’s landed on Wells harbour and can buy fresh crabs, mussels, cockles and whelks from the fishmongers. In season, succulent marsh samphire, harvested at low tide from the tidal marshes is delicious. Of course, a seaside town would not be a real seaside town without traditional fish and chips on the harbour front.

The Beach Café, next to the main entrance to the beach, is a great place to enjoy al fresco food or to grab an ice cream. When the weather is a little cooler, you can warm up inside with a hot drink by the wood burner.
