Wells town & harbour

To explore the town of Wells-next-the-Sea stroll along the Beach Road sea wall path beside the water’s edge or when it is running, hop aboard the Wells Harbour Railway enjoying the views along the way.

At the end of your short journey you’ll find yourself at the heart of a flourishing port town with a small but very active harbour. Wells is full of beautifully restored heritage buildings, gift shops, galleries and several excellent restaurants and cafes serving great food. Wander up Staithe Street and discover the Maltings, a grade II listed former Maltings building which has been developed into a cultural and learning space. At the bottom of Staithe Street you will find the Buttlands; a green space in the centre of a Georgian square, lined by stunning architecture and the centre of many local celebrations such as the award winning Wells Carnival.

The walk from Pinewoods to Wells town is not lit, torches will be required after dark.
