Pinewoods isn’t just for summer. In fact, there’s no bad time to come and stay with us, simply because there’s so much to enjoy in North Norfolk all year round!
Perhaps you’re a parent looking for a school holiday break in a family friendly destination? Wells beach is a great spot for children, with plenty of golden sand for building sandcastles and a sea that’s lovely for swimming. Holkham offer exciting activities for families during school holidays, including multi-day festivals, nature trails, crafts and a ropes course! Along the harbour, you’ll often see families ‘gillying’ (crabbing), and further afield, you’ll find many North Norfolk attractions to suit children of any age.
Summer is also a time for couples and groups of friends to come together to enjoy the Norfolk sunshine, either in school holidays or during the quieter periods either side. Barbecues on the decking, street food pop-ups, days on the beach and slow strolls in nature are popular choices, as is relaxing with a book or podcast as you enjoy the view, perhaps over the lake or Holkham Bay.
In the cooler months, Norfolk is often less busy, but there’s still plenty to enjoy! Wells-next-the-Sea is home to a number of pubs with great food and drink on offer, and with plenty of villages reachable on foot or by bike, there’s ample opportunity for shopping, sightseeing and snacking in the local cafés. If you enjoy nature, there is always plenty of birdlife on the nature reserve throughout the year. In fact, winter is an exciting time, as hundreds of thousands of pink-footed geese arrive to overwinter here – you’ll be able to hear and spot them from Pinewoods!
And if you’d like to overwinter with us too, you can! Our caravans and lodges remain open in November and December, so why not spend Christmastime or New Year with us? The run up to Christmas is a wonderful time in North Norfolk, with village Christmas light switch ons, Holkham’s ever so popular Candlelight Tours, Wells Christmas Tide and Christmas Markets aplenty. Enjoy the festivities away from home, and take a Christmas morning stroll on the beach. Some people are even brave enough for a sea dip on Boxing Day!
Our caravans and lodges are typically available for stays between mid March and just after New Year, while touring is available between mid March and early November. Remember, we’re dog friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for your seasonal holiday in Wells-next-the-Sea.
