Here at Pinewoods, we are passionate about supporting our local community in Wells and North Norfolk. In our shop, we stock a variety of products from local suppliers, chosen by us especially for you. Not only does this include delicious groceries, you can also pick up gifts for loved ones and holiday souvenirs to remind you of your stay. Each month, we will be selecting a ‘Product of the Month’ and will share the story behind the product and its makers with you on our blog. Our Product of the Month this September – Adnams Beer & Prosecco

Adnams is a well-known, reputable, Southwold-based brewer that supplies many pubs and shops in East Anglia & beyond. They’re remembered for their brilliant quality beverages, which we sell in the Pinewoods Shop with very good reason.

Holkham has a long tradition of growing winter and spring barley for the brewing industry; this is due to the micro-climate in north Norfolk that makes for superlative malting barley. During spring of 2013, Holkham and Adnams entered a deal – Holkham would supply 75% of the malt used by their brewery. This was brilliant for local sustainability of good quality barley. Both Adnams and Holkham believe sustainability should be at the heart of what we do.

When you’re drinking an Adnams beverage, you can be sure of three things:

1. It’s locally sourced

2. It uses good quality ingredients

3. You’ll enjoy it!

The shop at Pinewoods doesn’t only sell Adnams beer & prosecco, it sells wine and spirits by them too, so there’s something to suit every taste.

If you’re visiting a pub in Norfolk, there’s a good chance you’ll come across the ‘Ghost Ship’ pale ale. This ale is full of taste, not too dry and an easy-going drink. Even for those who aren’t usually partial to a beer – it’s worth a try! The name behind this drink is inspired by a 600-year old ‘haunted’ pub, The Bell. The Ghost Ship won the bronze medal at the International Brewing Awards, 2013.

Prosecco is a must-have when buying Adnams products. It’s produced from the Glera grape grown in the centre of Italy, with notes of ripe apples, fresh pear and white peaches. It’s truly the most refreshing prosecco and just tasting it will take your mind on holiday to the Tuscan countryside. Adnams are proud to put their name to it.

You don’t have to travel far – just head to the Pinewoods shop to pick up a bottle (or two!) for a lovely evening tipple.
