Meet the team: Emma

September 20, 2023 | Pinewoods people | 2 minute read

In this edition of ‘Meet the Team’, we’re hearing from Emma, who is a member of the Marketing Team (and also edits the Pinewoods Post!).

Hello, I’m Emma and I work in the Marketing Team at Holkham. Working with all the different businesses across the estate is a great job to have, but an extra joyful part of my role is being a ‘part-time’ member of the Pinewoods team. As you know, they are a lovely bunch, and they work in the most glorious location!

What is your favourite activity locally?

Whatever the season, whether venturing inland or along the coast, I really love a good long walk. If it takes in a delightful café or cosy pub en route, all the better! If the weather is too inclement, then you’ll find me having a good rummage in all the second-hand shops in Holt.

What is your favourite North Norfolk delicacy?

I’m rather partial to cheese and a hefty lump of smoked Norfolk Dapple and Mrs Temple’s Wighton would be the first two to go in my picnic basket. Am I allowed two delicacies? If so, samphire in the summer with garlic butter is my idea of heaven.

(You can buy lovely local cheeses like these in the Pinewoods Store!)

What are you looking forward to socially this summer?

I’m looking forward to the Maritime Heritage Festival on the 29th and 30th July in Wells. I’m super excited to be in the flotilla!

What is your favourite North Norfolk view?

May I have two of these too? My first is looking out over the church and sea on Salthouse Heath. A superb spot for a picnic and an afternoon with a good book. My other is quite the opposite, the view from the marsh and creeks back towards Wells Town – even though you might only be a few metres away from all the hubbub it truly feels like another world.
